Design
The Lake District Townhomes and Condominiums began with a site drawing created in Microstation by Ballard & Associates. The first design models were created in ARRIS and SketchUp. The design process ran concurrently with the land acquisition process. The process was made more complex as the The Lake District subdivision had an architectural control committee acting essentially as a third party design partner.

We begin by gathering our information on the project together. Plats, digital photos, scans, program info, etc. We will organize this in the first eZ project file and begin work. eZ makes it simple to view all the different kinds of information into one simple to use file. Typically, our initial freehand sketches are over plats and digital photos.

In the first moments of our process we use ARRIS to begin sketching simple, scalable single line drawings of various design ideas. We will continuously go back and forth between ARRIS and eZ, using ARRIS for precision and eZ when a more fluid design approach is needed. Also with eZ, we can design interactively with others over the Internet.

ARRIS and eZ allow us to investigate and communicate our designs in a wide array of methods and views. We strive to find the most efficient and clear method to communicate with our clients. At any time, our clients can easily view all sketches, 3D models, plans, elevations, photos - any project information we need them to see.
